Reggio Inspired Emergent Curriculum
Our school is inspired by the practices of the schools in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Young children are encouraged to explore their environment through play. They experiment and express themselves using their bodies, spoken languages, everyday materials, art and music. With an emergent curriculum, educators create learning opportunities around observed child interests.
Essential Life Skills
We strive to create opportunities for children to practice and grow skills that will serve them their whole lives. These skills include problem-solving, making connections, communication, and taking on challenges.
A Focus on Community
While our programs encourage your child's autonomy in their own learning, we also understand that learning happens through relationships with others, and the environment. We work to connect children with their communities out of a belief that children are not citizens of the future, they are citizens of now.

“Little Acorn was such a welcoming place right from the start. The teachers are so dedicated to the kids - showing kindness, care, and marvel at all the things they were learning over the course of the year. We particularly loved the updates through Brightwheel that documented what they were up to and captured the big-little things along the way. The “Meadow” classroom (for the 4-5 year olds) also was a perfect TK-like experience within a preschool. We noticed the teachers built a curriculum that helped the kids start preparing for the routines and expectations for Kindergarten (and our little one made the transition seamlessly to Kinder this year!). On top of that - Little Acorn was more than a school - it was an incredible community! The staff and parents continually planned social events to get to know one another and build friendships - from cookie exchanges at Christmas to picnics in the park for dinner to moms night out. We are so grateful for the time we had at Little Acorn!”
